Overview
Sophia is a social humanoid robot activated in 2016 by Hong Kong–based Hanson Robotics, built to mimic human gestures and facial expressions and to hold scripted conversations. It gained wide media attention and, in 2017, was granted Saudi Arabian citizenship.
