Shenzhen-based robotics manufacturer Dobot has officially entered the highly competitive humanoid robot market with the unveiling of LUMO, a bipedal machine designed to operate in complex outdoor terrains. Historically focused on collaborative desktop arms and high-speed delta robots, the company is positioning LUMO as a versatile platform capable of navigating environments far more unpredictable than the structured concrete of automotive assembly lines and logistics warehouses.

This move represents a major strategic expansion for Dobot. The company built its reputation on precision light-industrial hardware, most notably its collaborative series and the Dobot Atom delta robot. By transitioning to a bipedal humanoid form factor, Dobot is joining a crowded field of Chinese hardware developers—including Unitree, AgiBot, and Fourier—all vying to commoditize bipedal mobility.
