Forerunner K2
Kepler's hybrid-architecture 'Bumblebee' industrial humanoid at ¥248,000 (~$34,000), in mass production with ~8 h runtime.
Overview
Shanghai-based Kepler moved the Forerunner K2 'Bumblebee' into mass production in September 2025, calling it the world's first commercially available hybrid-architecture humanoid at ¥248,000 (~$34,000) per unit. The 1.75 m, 75 kg robot combines planetary roller-screw linear and rotary actuators for a straight-knee gait, up to 81.3% energy efficiency and industrial durability, with 52 degrees of freedom and tactile hands lifting 15 kg per arm. A 2.33 kWh battery delivers around 8 hours per charge, and a layered VLA+ model handles sorting, assembly and guided tours. Kepler reports framework agreements covering several thousand units across logistics, manufacturing, R&D and exhibitions.
